Why do I see '500 Internal Server Error' when running a CGI?

This error occurs when a system call fails while the server is tryingto set up the CGI process environment. Whenever this error occurs, amore detailed error message will be written out to the $ZEUSHOME/web/log/errors. Almost all these errors relate to a problem at the operating system level such as run out of memory or file-descriptors, or a file permissions problem.
