What are the different license key options? The capabilities of Zeus Web Server are controlled by the license key that is in use: Dynamic Virtual ServersDynamic Virtual Servers is an optional ZWS feature, and is enabled by a license key option. DVS lets you run very large numbers of web sites, storing their configuration in a database or other store. It's useful in mass-hosting environments where thousands of websites are regularly provisioned, reconfigured or removed by a provisioning system. User Bandwidth ThrottlingUser Bandwidth Throttling is an optional ZWS feature, and is enabled by a license key option. It lets you impose strict download limits on individual users or classes of users, and have these limits are shared across a cluster of ZWS servers. For more details, take a look at the User Bandwidth Throttling Documentation. Development licensesZeus also issues 'Development Licenses'. These license keys are intended for use in a development environment, and may not be used in a production environment where ZWS handles live traffic. A development license imposes the following restrictions on the software:
Evaluation and Full licensesLicense keys may be restricted to a particular machine ID (IP address or MAC address), or may have time limitations upon them. Typically, evaluation licenses are unrestricted but have an expiry time, whereas full licenses have no time limit but are bound to a specific IP address. |
